*Job Title:*MLT /Medical Technologist II *SIGN ON BONUS* (FT-Nights) JCMC - Johnson City, TN*Job Code:*MSHA000BCR*Location:*JOHNSON CITY MEDICAL CENTER, Johnson City, TN*Position Type:*Full-time (scheduled 72 hrs or more per pay period)*Job Definition**Job Description**SCOPE OF POSITION*The Medical Lab Technician III performs laboratory procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease. The Technician will perform laboratory testing in a quality and timely manner. This individual will draw blood from patients finger, ear lobe, artery, or vein, observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood samples. The Technician will perform quality control according to each laboratory department protocol. Additionally, the Technician will orient new laboratory employees, reporting progress to the assistant laboratory director. The Technician will collect, process, and store laboratory specimens as appropriate. The Technician will perform instrument maintenance as required on their specific shift, as well as provide appropriate patient education.*REPORTING RELATIONSHIP*See Table of Organization.*EDUCATION EXPERIENCE*Associate's degree required, Bachelor's preferred. Must meet the CLIA 88 Testing Personnel Interpretative Guidelines. One year experience in an accredited laboratory training facility.A Medical Laboratory Technician performing testing in the State of Tennessee must hold a current Tennessee licensure per the State of Tennessee General Laboratory Board rules and regulations 1200-6-1-.03. A team member who may be hired while in the process of obtaining approval from the state of TN is prohibited to report laboratory testing values/results until a copy of the license is received and verified by the organization.Medical Technologists performing testing in the State of Virginia must be nationally certified.*Compensation*Job Type: Full-timeby Jobble
