Serves as a subject matter/content expert for a particular process or area and a preceptor for new employees and learners. Use chemicals and appropriate PPE as established protocols and procedures. Maintains adequate inventory for assembly of instruments and equipment. Performs multiple tasks that assist in the daily operation of all units in all locations/sites, as well as being responsible for customer service. /n /n/n /n PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : /n /n/n /n · Receives soiled and contaminated instruments or equipment from surgery/Anesthesia/nursing units. /n /n/n /n · Appropriately prepares, cleans, and disinfects instruments and equipment. /n /n/n /n · Inspects all instruments and equipment for unacceptable conditions. /n /n/n /n · Prepares instruments and equipment for sterilization by assembling correct item and quantity. /n /n/n /n · Assist in pulling required trays and supplies for surgical cases. /n /n/n /n · Maintain cleanliness and proper order in the work area. /n /n/n /n · Maintains required records on sterilization. /n /n/n /n · Proficient use of all equipment. /n /n/n /n · Assures the effectiveness of the sterilization procedures are performed. /n /n/n /n · Demonstrates dependability and flexibility in meeting scheduling needs of the department. /n /n/n /n · Assumes on call assignments /n /n/n /n · Participates in staff and student development /n /n/n /n · Responsible for personal and professional development /n /n/n /n Qualifications /n /n The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: /n /n/n /n EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : /n /n/n /n · High school graduate or equivalent /n /n/n /n EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: /n /n/n /n • Two Year Sterile processing technician experience /n /n/n /n LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: /n /n/n /n • Certification through HSPA or CBSPD /n /n/n /n This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
