Appalachia Service Project, Inc. (ASP) is a Christian ministry,

volunteer home repair and replacement in Central Appalachia. ASP is
a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Using the skills and efforts
of thousands of volunteers, ASP provides critical home repair and
replacement to low-income households in Central Appalachia. ASP

About the Position The Regional Director position is part of ASPs
Ministries Department and is responsible for leading the success of
ASPs programming and overall mission operations in the communities
of East Tennessee. This position reports to the Vice President of
Field Operations and may also be a part of the Summer Management
Team and/or the Fellows Leadership Team, as well as other aspects
of the organization. This is a full-time position based in Johnson
City, Tennessee. Irregular hours may be required. This role
requires moderate travel between communities and areas in East
Tennessee and Western North Carolina. This position will oversee,
manage, and facilitate success in the areas of home repairs and new
home construction, as well as readiness for, response to, and
recovery from disaster incidents around the region. Job
Responsibilities Overall Ensure the smooth-running operation of
ASPs programming, out of the East Tennessee Hub in Johnson City to
include, but not be limited to ensuring that all program operations
are performing to high quality standards, are remaining on
schedule, are within budget, and are delivering on all
program/funding requirements. Ensure priorities and initiatives of
ASPs programs in East Tennessee are carried out. Work with
supervisor to ensure a staff structure that allows for efficient
and effective delegation of tasks. Provide delegation and
supervision of staff or Fellows as needed. Ensure the utilization
of systems that streamline quality performance while also
mitigating risk and maximizing safety. Represent ASP or ensure ASPs
presence at consortium and fraternal organization meetings,
community gatherings, conferences, and other public and partnership
events, as needed. Communicate relevant updates to supervisor
regularly. Act as a link between field operations, office staff,
and management. Work with supervisor and staff to set, track, and
achieve realistic and proactive programmatic goals. Analyze
volunteer, family, and staff feedback; plan for adjustments and
improvements, as needed. Staff Management Ensure that all staff and
Fellowsare familiar with the tasks and projects they are
responsible for managing and understand the importance and end-goal
of each task and each project. Train ASP staff, Fellows,
volunteers, and others in quality construction processes,
procedures,and oversight. Help foster an environment for open
communication among program staff. Serve as a positive role model
for staff in community, organization, completion of tasks, and
personal and professional growth. Support and nurture the spiritual
development of all staff. Actively support the vocational
discernment curriculum of any Fellows in service to the East
Tennessee THRIVE Program. Construction & Field Operations Ensure
that ASPs East Tennessee Hub is equipped and ready to continue
expanding construction operations (home repair and new
construction), receive and facilitate volunteers, and respond to
disaster incidents, as needed. Work with supervisor, staff, and
other ASP personnel to ensure the Appalachian Highlands Volunteer
and Training Center is maintained at or above a clean and
acceptable standard, once it is complete and available for use.
Ensure continuous, effective, and timely communications with other
staff, departments, and programs across all of ASP, to support and
assist work happening in the field including, but not limited to:
the Volunteer, Accounting, and Advancement Departments. Support the
planning, preparations, and set up of local Summer Repair Program
efforts, as needed. Case Management Ensure proper, timely, and
accurate communication with prospective and current clients. Ensure
collection and maintenance of required paperwork, pictures, and
records for all cases and projects. Funding and Compliance Ensure
the program is properly budgeted and resourced. Assist in program
specific fundraising efforts and grant writing, as needed. Build
upon current partnerships for volunteers, funders, contractors, and
community support. Ensure financial accounting and reporting is
accurately processed as needed for accounts payable, accounts
receivable, and general financial tracking. Ensure performance
expectations and reporting from funding sources are met. Approve
program related expenditures and expense allocations up to the
amount allowed for this position. Ensure accuracy, ethics, and
budget compliance for transactions. Administrative Ensure the
maintenance of thorough, electronic, and hard-copy documentation
for each family, home, project, and grant. Ensure any program
procedure manuals are kept up to date. Seek out applicable training
opportunities to enhance skill and knowledge. Adhere to all
organizational, programmatic, and other budget guidelines. Prepare
for and participate in ongoing evaluation processes. Other Support
and nurture the continuous personal, professional, and/or spiritual
development of staff and Fellows, including the facilitation of
trainings, cross-trainings, and growth opportunities. Adhere to
organizational and departmental core values, expectations, guiding
principles, mission, vision, and budget guidelines. Anything else
that contributes to the smooth-running operation of ASPs mission
and other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications ASP uses

to work in a Christian environment. Responsible work habits as

Expectations(attached). Strong knowledge and
expertiseinconstruction business management, and construction
processes. Ability to work with, train, advise and assista variety
of volunteers and staff. Excellent written and oral communication
skills. Highly motivated, self-starter, creative, problem-solver,
and dedicated. Experience in programmatic, staff, and/or personnel
management. Ability to work on a team and autonomously. Computer
literacy. Desired: Bachelors Degree. Experience in residential
construction management. Experience with case management.
Experience in fundraising, grant writing/reporting,
financial/donations management. Experience in local disaster
response, preparedness, and long-term recovery. Experience with ASP
or a similarservice-focusedprogram. Other Requirements: Valid
drivers license and driving record that is acceptable to ASPs
insurer. Regional travel is expected, some overnights may be
necessary. This role may require occasional weekend or holiday
work. Satisfactory results on a thorough background check. Salary
