$117,600 annual minimum starting pay*
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the analysis of the Cooperative's
transmission and distribution system and the design and
construction of complex electrical power systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as an alternate coordinator for the Cooperative Standards
Committee
Act with highest integrity during interactions with Cooperative
staff, contractors, and equipment suppliers
Manage the standards change control process and review cycle
calendar
Work collaboratively with the Districts to modify construction
specifications as needed and to provide engineering support for
district distribution construction and operation
Prepare construction and material specifications and associated
drawings for construction assembly units
Conduct engineering analysis of distribution system component
failures, material standards, construction standards, transmission
and substation equipment standards
Compile and evaluate design and test data
Prepare technical specifications and analyze technical data to
determine appropriate limits and variables for product, process or
materials specifications
Prepare and study technical drawings and specifications of
electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations
conform to standards and customer requirements
Operate computer assisted engineering and design software and
equipment to perform engineering tasks
Confer with engineers, customers and others to discuss existing or
potential engineering projects and products
Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation,
maintenance, support, documentation and testing activities to
ensure compliance with specifications, codes and customer
requirements
Design, implement, maintain and improve electrical instruments,
equipment, facilities, components, products and systems for
commercial, industrial and domestic purposes
Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment
Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish
manufacturing, construction and installation standards and
specifications
Investigate customer or public complaints, determine nature and
extent of problem and recommend remedial measures
Serve as department/project leader
Plan and implement research methodology and procedures to apply
principles of electrical theory to engineering projects
Collect data and gather information or documents
Perform a variety of standard engineering computations and
analysis
Prepare engineering drawings and construction specifications
Research material specifications and resolve material issues
Oversee work order construction inspections
Prepare procedures documentation
Coordinate with consultants, members, developers and government
entities on all projects
Serve as technical advisor on department initiatives
Provide guidance to other department engineers and staff
Maintain the security of confidential information
Stay abreast of advances in technology
Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Supervisory and/or Leadership Responsibilities: Serve in a lead
capacity in the absence of the Director of Engineering Quality and
Standards. Supervise, direct, oversee, and/or review the work of
junior engineers, designers, drafters or others at the discretion
of the Director of Engineering Quality and Standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up
and using hardware and software programs, entering data,
configuration, or processing information
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer
service
Knowledge of technical presentations and reporting
Knowledge of construction materials and products
Skilled in time management
Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to listen and understand information verbally and in
writing
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve conflict and
problems
Minimum Qualifications - (Education, Experience, Certification, &
Licensure):
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas
Four years of related work experience as a Professional
Engineer
Valid Texas Driver's License. Must have and maintain an acceptable
driving record as determined by the Cooperative

Exempt employees receive a fixed bi-weekly salary to compensate
them for all hours worked during each pay period
This position may be required to work more than 40 hours per
week
