Enbridge's Integrity Management team is looking for a Facility
Integrity Engineer III. This role will be responsible for ensuring
the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of natural gas utility
facilities across North Carolina. This role focuses on the
integrity management of above-ground and below-ground
infrastructure, including compressor stations, metering and
regulation stations, and associated piping systems. The engineer
will develop, implement, and maintain integrity assessment programs
in accordance with federal and state regulations, industry
standards, and company policies.
This position will be in Gastonia, North Carolina.
What You Will Do:
- Develop, plan and deliver the fitness for service for the above
ground facility assets (pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers,
pressure safety relief devices) integrity management following PSMS
and in adherence to API 510, 570, 576, 579 and PHMSA 192 and 193
and other applicable codes, standards and regulations.
- Conduct integrity inspections, evaluations, assessments and
mitigation of threats for natural gas facilities and
equipment.
- Coordinate and oversee inspections, non-destructive testing
(NDT), and condition assessments.
- Analyze inspection data to identify anomalies, recommend
corrective actions, and track remediation.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
to ensure asset integrity and reliability.
- Support root cause failure analysis and incident
investigations.
- Maintain documentation and records to support audits and
regulatory compliance.
- Participate in capital planning and budgeting for
integrity-related projects.
- Stay current with regulatory changes, industry trends, and
emerging technologies.
- Work covers Enbridge Gas North Carolina facility integrity
assets and will collaborate with peers across Enbridge Gas
utilities in other states in USA and provinces in Canada.
Who You Are:
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in pipeline or facilities integrity,
preferably in the natural gas or energy sector.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the
state.
Preferred:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina.
- API 570, API 653, or NACE certifications.
- Previous experience in station engineering, station integrity,
gas transmission and distribution operations, gas storage
operations.
- Experience and understanding of station design, construction
practices, field operations, service procedures
- Strong knowledge of integrity management principles and
regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in data analysis, fitness for service assessments,
risk modeling, and/or integrity software tools.
- Excellent communication, project management, and
problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a field
and office environment.
Education Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum,
Automation or Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited
engineering program based on the year that the engineering program
was accredited by ABET, or
- Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside
of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own
engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full
signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's
accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status
was achieved, or
- Possess a 4-year engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited
program and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution
where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline
is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was
accredited by ABET, or
- Possess a 4-year degree in Physics, Chemistry or Math and a
post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the
undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET
accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited
by ABET, or
- Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer
license.
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:Grasping,
kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds),
reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting,
standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color
coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to
sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not
limited to:Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or
written instructions or other information, understand complex
problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize
thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and
prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions
which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor
impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions
and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines,
memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via
telephone.
Working Conditions:
- We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office
[Monday Tuesday and Thursday], two days of teleworking [Wednesday
and Friday]) to accommodate the need for flexibility.
