Job Description:
As a Fleet Maintenance Manager at MV Transportation, Inc., you
will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and
reliability of our transportation services. You will oversee the
maintenance of various vehicles used in public transportation,
including paratransit, fixed route buses, shuttles, and school
buses. Your efforts will support our mission to provide outstanding
service to communities across the U.S. and Canada, facilitating
mobility with precision and care. Manage daily operations of the
vehicle maintenance department, ensuring effective maintenance of
all fleet vehicles. Schedule and oversee regular maintenance and
repair work, aiming to minimize downtime and disruption of
services. Implement and monitor a robust preventive maintenance
program to enhance vehicle longevity and reliability. Manage and
develop maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and
conducting performance evaluations. Prepare and manage the
maintenance budget, ensuring effective use of resources. Ensure
compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and
company policies. Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure
high-quality parts and services at cost-effective prices. Foster a
culture of safety, quality, and responsiveness, aligning with
company goals and mission. Generate regular reports on maintenance
status, expenses, and other metrics. Strong leadership skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills Advanced
knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems and diagnostics Proficiency
in maintenance management software Ability to manage budgets and
understand financial statements Certified Automotive Fleet Manager
(CAFM) preferred ASE Certification in Automotive or Truck
Maintenance and Repair is a plus
