Job Description Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Process Engineer assists in creating, implementing, and optimizing quality programs, equipment, processes, products, and the inspection of materials. This position works within established company guidelines and policies. RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Assists in developing and implementing the quality program to ensure raw materials and finished goods meet all quality standards, continually monitors effectiveness and accuracy, provides suggestions for improving and continuous growth of program Assists in recommending and developing procedures and processes that optimize and drive consistency into all aspects of manufacturing process Revises and updates control manuals as needed Monitors routine quality test effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement, assists in research, design and implementation of test methods and equipment to ensure most effective methods and equipment are being used Fosters a collaborative relationship with production as well as vendors and customers to discuss and resolve process and quality issues Accurately prepares all necessary reports for various departments, customers and leadership, provides Assists with training employees on new processes or procedures Prepares and analyzes quality reports as needed for internal and external purposes, provides recommendations for corrective actions based on report findings Assists with organizing and conducting experiments for product development and collecting relevant process, quality, and testing data Assists with the collection, storage, and maintenance of process and quality data and systems used to collect the data Continuously improves upon the current RGA system and submits suggested improvements on an ongoing basis REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY 3-5 years of experience working in stretch film or packaging engineering role with progressive responsibility Advanced negotiation skills with ability to successfully collaborate with various personalities to build long term, lasting relationships Proven ability to successfully work in a collaborate relationship with multiple departments Demonstrated project management skills Organized, motivated self-starter, with ability to prioritize tasks High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills, strong presentation skills Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word Demonstrated strong business acumen The ability to adapt to fast paced; rapid changes, with ability to juggle multiple tasks and handle unexpected delays or events all while maintaining constant attention to detail Practice and promote teamwork and servant leadership style within the organization High level of dependability regarding attendance and punctuality Demonstrated leadership ability, preferably in the manufacturing environment. Able to approach situations/problems from a solid systems approach. Excellent troubleshooting (root cause analysis) skills. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience of 5 or more years in Engineering role PREFERRED EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Two to three years supervisory or managerial experience preferred Strong understanding of stretch film manufacturing process PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Ability to bend, stoop, twist at the waist, squat as is required of office environment Ability to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms Ability to safely and independently navigate a production floor, lab or warehouse facility through the use of sight and hearing Ability to perform basic manual dexterity tasks, typing, dialing, writing, stapling, etc. as required to utilize office equipment Ability to climb stairs Ability to regularly lift up to 5lbs Ability to occasionally lift up to 10lbs Ability to rarely lift up to 50lbs Ability to sit for duration of flights or long car rides as well as have the capability to travel via airway and/or vehicular travel Ability to understand and communicate verbally Ability to meet requirements of and utilize PPE when required ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions but could be exposed to warmer temperature environments such as a warehouse or production floor. (Typical office/administrative work environment.)
