Job Description:
US Foods, a premier foodservice distributor, is seeking an
experienced Senior Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair the
diesel engines that power our transportation equipment. This role
is crucial as it ensures the efficiency and reliability of our
fleet, directly impacting our ability to serve hundreds of
thousands of customers nationwide. The Senior Diesel Mechanic will
work in a dynamic environment, applying advanced mechanical skills
to perform detailed maintenance procedures, troubleshoot complex
issues, and ensure all equipment meets regulatory requirements.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on diesel engines and
related components. Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and
electrical problems. Ensure all maintenance and repairs are
completed in accordance with company standards and regulatory
requirements. Maintain accurate records of each repair and
maintenance work performed. Assist in the training and mentoring of
junior mechanics. Collaborate with logistics staff to manage
maintenance schedules and minimize vehicle downtime. Advanced
knowledge of diesel engine components and systems. Ability to
diagnose issues using modern diagnostic tools and software. Strong
problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in using tools and equipment
necessary for high-quality repairs. Effective communication and
collaboration skills. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance 401k Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.
Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service
Excellence (ASE) in Diesel Mechanics.
