SCOPE OF POSITION
Responsible for the total operations of Surgical Services. Includes Pre-Admission & same day services, SPD, Preoperative holding, operating room, PACU, and endoscopy suite. Develops processes and systems to assure efficient, effective and safe surgical services operations. Provides leadership and direction to direct reports. Possesses competency skills in: time management, critical thinking, data analysis, conflict resolution, and strategic planning. Identifies expected outcomes for perioperative services. Develops and enforces policies and procedures that ensure quality patient care. Is responsible for driving excellent patient and staff satisfaction results. Is a business strategist: sets financial goals, monitors budget expenses and drives overall operational and capital budgets; uses proformas for new technology or requesting capital equipment. Administratively coordinates supply requirements, service lines and oversees quality, incorporating both process and patient outcomes. Capable of utilizing knowledge to engineer/implement change. Works with stakeholders to accomplish determined metrics. Responsible for achieving and maintaining regulatory compliance. Establishes and maintains effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders. Understands the importance of positive relationships between hospital and physicians.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in business or health related field, Masters preferred with 5 years experience in health care setting and 3 years demonstrated competency in management required. Progressive clinical knowledge and administrative experiences with demonstrated successes in surgical services. Knowledge, skills and abilities in the area of overall operations and systems management, product line development, human resources management, quality and customer service management.

Valid and active Registered Nurse license
CPR is required for any RN, LPN, PCT, Patient Transporter or other direct patient care provider. Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, PACU, Medical Emergency Team and Anesthesia require ACLS. Pediatrics, SICU, Emergency Department and Medical Emergency Team also require PALS
