Roles & Responsibilities Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a high-volume Emergency Department Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care across a wide range of acute presentations Operate and monitor cardiac monitors and infusion equipment (Baxter pumps, GE monitors) safely Document patient care and clinical decisions clearly in Cerner Collaborate with physicians, techs and unit staff to maintain smooth patient flow and excellent outcomes Coach colleagues and provide real-time feedback to support team performance and patient safety Support patient experience initiatives — keep boards updated and maintain respectful, clear communication with patients and families Qualifications Active RN license (state licensure required prior to start as applicable) Minimum 2 years nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an ER setting Experience at a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred Current ACLS and BLS prior to start date PALS, TNCC, CPI and NIHSS required before start date; ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire Demonstrated teamwork mentality and ability to coach and give feedback in real time Comfortable working across all areas of the ED and adapting to shifting patient needs Knowledge & Skills Strong triage and patient assessment skills in acute care settings Proficient with Cerner documentation workflows Familiarity with cardiac monitoring, Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitor systems Stroke assessment knowledge including NIHSS Trauma assessment and emergency interventions experience Excellent communication, teamwork and bedside coaching abilities Commitment to patient experience best practices such as AIDET Benefits Generous housing stipend and comfortable travel housing options to make your stay easy and cozy Comprehensive medical, dental & vision coverage so you can focus on patients, not paperwork 401(k) retirement savings plan and financial wellness resources to help plan your future Life and disability insurance options for peace of mind Paid time off to recharge between assignments Travel reimbursement and licensure assistance to simplify the logistics of working away from home Referral bonus program — bring a friend and share the love (and the teamwork) A supportive, welcoming team that values collaboration, mentorship and the unique strengths you bring Travel Perks: Explore Asheville, NC Asheville is a dream for outdoor lovers and culture seekers alike.
