Staffing Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Location: Asheville,
NC Start Date: 03-02-2026 End Date: 06-01-2026 Contract Type:
Travel Contract Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; exact
days scheduled by manager (schedule varies). Weekends not required
but available upon approval. Hours per Week: 36 Candidate Pay Rate:

Responsibilities Provide excellent labor and delivery nursing care,
including managing vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections Monitor
maternal and fetal status using advanced fetal monitoring and
intervene appropriately Deliver immediate newborn care and support
safe neonatal transitions Collaborate with obstetricians,
anesthesiology, NICU and support staff during procedures such as
D&C, cerclage and C-hyst Document patient care accurately and
timely in the Cerner electronic medical record Operate and manage
unit equipment including Baxter pumps and Phillips electronic fetal
monitoring Maintain 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios while prioritizing
safety, clinical judgment and compassionate communication
Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery (L&D) experience
(high-risk obstetrics experience required) Required certifications:
NRP, BLS/ALS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring Experience with immediate
newborn care and high-risk maternal care Familiarity with Cerner
EMR, fetal ink, Baxter pumps and Phillips electronic fetal
monitoring Preferred: circulating experience and prior exposure to
NICU, MFMU or MOMB float areas Education Active Registered Nurse
(RN) license required Required certifications: NRP, BLS/ALS,
Advanced Fetal Monitoring Knowledge & Skills Strong fetal
monitoring interpretation and advanced fetal monitoring skills
Comfort with high-risk obstetrics and emergency interventions
Proficient documentation in Cerner and use of unit-specific
technologies Skilled in immediate newborn resuscitation and newborn
stabilization Excellent communication, adaptability and teamwork in
a fast-paced unit Ability to maintain situational awareness during
