Telemetry experience Description: We are seeking dedicated
registered nurses to join our progressive care unit. The primary
patient population includes cardiovascular surgery and vascular
surgery patients. This includes open heart surgeries such as CABG,
AVR, MVR, TAVR, and thoracic surgeries. We also care for overflow
medical cardiology patients with diagnoses such as heart failure,
DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block. The unit has 40 cardiac
surgery stepdown beds and a staff of approximately 100. On the day
shift, there is 1 charge RN, 13 RNs, and 4 PCTs. On the night
shift, there is 1 charge RN, 13 RNs, and 4 PCTs. Patient ratios are
1:5 for RNs and 1:13 for PCTs. The unit uses various equipment
including Baxter IV pumps and CADD epidural pumps. Electronic
Medical Records are managed through Cerner. Candidates should be
team players who thrive in fast-paced environments. Flexibility in
scheduling is essential. Weekend requirements include a minimum of
6 weekend shifts every 6-week scheduling period. No on-call duties
are required. The ideal candidates will have experience in managing
epidurals, chest tubes, tube feedings, and cardiac medications.
Prior experience with cardiovascular surgical and vascular surgical
