Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Shelby, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,894 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Shelby, North Carolina, 28150! Job Title: RN - Progressive Care Unit Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 18 months PCU RN experience License: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Certifications: Required certifications must be current Must-Have: Experience with tracheostomies, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, and management of central lines. Description: The RN will work in a Progressive Care Unit with a patient ratio of 1:4, which may occasionally increase to 1:5 depending on patient acuity. The patient population includes those not requiring mechanical ventilation with diagnoses such as CHF, dysrhythmias, chest pain workup, strokes, abdominal illnesses, respiratory illnesses, diabetes, acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, alcohol withdrawal, and intravenous drug abuse. Support is provided within the department by CNAs during the day shift. A charge nurse is available as a resource to assist with nursing care. Phlebotomy services are available, with most draws performed by phlebotomists. There is a dedicated IV team and respiratory therapy available 24/7. Intensivist and hospitalist services are also available around the clock. Telemetry monitoring is performed both at the bedside and at the nurses' station. The facility utilizes EPIC for electronic medical records, Alaris for IV pumps, Omnicell for medication dispensing, and Phillips for monitors. Traveling nurses may be required to float to other facilities within the region as needed, within the scope of practice. Floating mid-shift will be compensated for travel time between facilities. Scheduling includes a weekend rotation with every other weekend off. Travelers will be expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off are limited to 6 days, excluding holidays, and must be added to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours.
