Description This position will focus on the internal communication
of Human Resources initiatives including benefits, retirement, team
member engagement, team member wellness and various team member
campaigns. This position will also work closely with the
recruitment team to focus on building the Ballad brand externally
to attract talent . SCOPE OF POSITION The Director, Communications
and Marketing is responsible for the development and implementation
of marketing initiatives for Ballad Health facilities and work
closely with the Marketing Team. The Director will provide
marketing and communications consultation and support to department
managers and the medical staff regarding their particular areas of
service. The Director will be actively involved in the development
and implementation of the facility communications plan, working
with Marketing and Communications in the creation and distribution
of media releases. This position is responsible for the integrity
and content of the website pages for their area. The Director must
demonstrate fiscal responsibility through consolidation of
marketing efforts, also responsible for staying within budget
guidelines. The Director will be responsible for ensuring that
Ballad policies are consistently observed, and for the development
and implementation of appropriate departmental policies and
procedures. The Director is accountable for compliance with all
pertinent JCAHO Standards, and with local, state and federal
regulations. As an integral part of the Ballad management team, the
Director will participate in the organization's Performance
Improvement programs and to cooperate with interdepartmental
reengineering projects to improve quality of service and reduce
cost. The Director is accountable for practicing fiscal
responsibility by developing realistic annual operating and capital
budgets, conserving resources, and monitoring expenditures to
ensure they remain within budgeted parameters. The Director will
ensure that departmental facilities and equipment are regularly
inspected and maintained in optimum operating condition. This
position is responsible for maintaining the qualified and competent
staff needed to provide quality service and for monitoring the
activities of reporting managers and supervisors to ensure that
ongoing educational opportunities. The Director is accountable for
maintaining harmonious interactions between departmental personnel
and their customers, including patients, family members, visitors,
physicians, clergy, other system team members, and the general
public. The incumbent is expected to lend technical assistance and
act in a consultant role to network healthcare providers. The
Director is accountable for maintaining technical expertise and for
development of leadership skills through ongoing education. The
Director must be self-motivated and serve as a strong team leader
and coach. The Director is expected to comply with the management
philosophy which includes being accountable to the customer,
fiscally responsible, and focused on improving performance
outcomes. An important expectation of the Director is to support
the successful operation of the Strategic Service Units and
Strategic Service Departments. The Director will dedicate
operational resources to developing the organization's intellectual
capital, empowering team members to assume responsibility and
accountability within the scope of their expertise, and act as
facilitator to the self-directed work groups that develop within
the department. INDCORP REPORTING RELATIONSHIP See Table of
Organization EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree required,
Master's degree is preferred. Minimum five years of progressively
responsible experience in healthcare of related field including two
years in a supervisory role. The incumbent will be required to
update technical expertise and to develop management/leadership
skills through continuing education throughout tenure in this
