Job Description:

State of Franklin Healthcare Associates is currently recruiting for a Full-Time Staff Accountant to work with our Administration team. State of Franklin Healthcare Associates was voted as the Best Place to Work in the 2018 Johnson City Press Reader's Choice Award.Summary The Staff Accountant will work under the supervision of the Assistant Controller. Maintains and controls the accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepares monthly general and standard journal entries, financial statements and comparative reports, account reconciliations, cost reports, and bank reconciliations.Assists independent auditors with interim and year-end audit.Prepares reports related to recommended changes in data collection procedures.Assists in annual budgeting process.Compiles various health field organizational comparative surveys as well as result oriented comparisons. Fixed asset management (accumulated depreciation reconciliations/balancing etc.).Prepaid management.Prepares reports of budget expenditures, revenues and account or fund balances.Assists clerical employees with problems related to putting data into proper accounting format.Record Accounts Receivable at month end using Microsoft Access Database and Practice Management reports.Prepares weekly cash flow forecast for the Executive Team to review.Manage 401K contributions and changes for employees and executives. Calculates and reconciles monthly pension and quarterly funding.Files and maintains county/city personal property taxes.Maintains and manages SoFHA Real Estate Entities' books and financials. Serves as back-up for Payroll and Accounts Payable. Calculates monthly physician expense, income and distribution schedules.Participates in monthly review meetings of financial packets. Other Compiles information and prepares reports.Maintains records.Participates in educational activities.Regular and in-person attendance as scheduled and required to perform essential job functions.Follows organizational policies and procedures, including State of Franklin Healthcare Associates Compliance Manual, Code of Ethics and Business Standards, HR Policies and Procedures Manual, Team Member Handbook, OSHA Manual and any other policies or procedures for the job function, department, location or clinic.Performs other duties as assigned. Direct Reports NoneQualifications Knowledge of accounting theory, principles and practices to identify and describe accounting systems and subsystems, budgeting and cost accounting principles, and computer information systems to present financial information. The ability to analyze financial reports, prepare statistical and narrative accounting reports, perform mathematical computations accurately and quickly, and identify and compute ratios and percentages. Education Bachelor degree in business administration or related field.ExperienceThree years of accounting experience including one year of accounting experience in a healthcare organization. Proficient in the following programs: Microsoft Word, Excel and Access Database.
